  • What happens if I cannot attend my course due to medical reasons?
    If you believe you are unable to attend or complete your course due to an illness and need to have your course dates rescheduled, please email our admin team at admin@australiandoggroomingschool.com.au to discuss your potential options. Each case is assessed individually based on the situation and documentation is mandatory for assessment of the situation. If you are approved to change dates due to your circumstances, an admin fee of $100 will be charged for each day that is missed that needs to be rescheduled into a new course. Your rescheduled days will be issued based on course availability, which could be anywhere from 2 - 6 months wait. If you decide you do not want to attend the new course dates, your deposit is not refundable. COVID-19: If you fall ill with Covid-19, we will require proof of a positive PCR test or registration of your RAT test with the Department of Health.
  • Do I need to provide my own tools during the course?
    No, students are provided with all the tools they need to complete their grooms throughout the course at no extra charge. Students also have the opportunity to order the same brand of tools that we use at the school once they finish the course, but this is not compulsory.
  • How long should the online learning component take to complete?
    The online learning component should take approximately 15-20 hours to complete. It is filled with a variety of videos, lectures and quizzes and is sent out to students via email 3 weeks prior to their in-class commencement. This component covers dog grooming essentials and prepares your mind for the practical training. This component must be completed prior to attending your course.
  • Do I need to have any dog grooming experience to complete the Intensive Course?
    No experience is required to complete our Intensive Grooming Course or Heiniger Academy Course. We pride ourselves on offering a quality teaching course and enjoyable experience for all our students, regardless of their levels of ability. Our aim is for you to graduate with confidence in your own skills and be ready to start grooming right away.
  • I am currently a bather/brusher, can I complete the Intensive Course in less days?
    Due to the high standards that we provide in our teaching, we prefer our students to complete the whole 10 days. This ensures you are confident in prepping and grooming your own dog correctly from start to finish. The bathing component is only a half day learning experience and other essential skills are incorporated throughout the day, such as clipping and scissoring practice. These skills prepare you for your own grooms throughout the course and also ensure you have gained the same knowledge as students who are completing the full course.
  • What if I want to do additional training once the course is finished?
    Dog grooming is a skill that benefits from continuous learning. After completing the Intensive Course, we offer an Upskill Course designed to help you refine and advance your grooming skills. Additionally, you can speak to our affiliate salon about potential opportunities to gain more hands-on experience in a salon environment and further progress your skills.
  • What happens if I need to cancel or re-schedule my course or private training session?
    The below terms and conditions apply for cancelling and rescheduling courses and private training sessions: INTENSIVE COURSES & HEINIGER ACADEMY COURSES: - Changes made up to 6 weeks before course commencement will incur a $250 admin fee - Changes made between 4 - 6 weeks before course commencement will incur a $250 admin fee + $100 late notice fee - Cancellations made under 4 weeks before course commencement are non-refundable and new dates will not be rescheduled DIY & PRIVATE TRAINING SESSIONS: - Any changes/cancellations made up to 2 weeks before the session will incur a 10% admin fee. - Cancellations made under 2 weeks are non-refundable and the session will not be rescheduled.
  • Is government funding offered for your courses?
    Due to being a private training school, unfortunately government funding or concessions pricing is not available for our courses and training sessions.
  • Do you offer payment plans?
    We do not offer payment plans at this time, although once the $700 deposit has been paid, the remaining amount of the course is not due until 3 weeks prior to your course start date.
  • How do I apply for your courses or training sessions?
    If you are interested in attending one of our courses or training sessions, please complete an Expression of Interest form on our Contact page to receive a copy of our Course Information Guide, which includes further details on our course offerings and details on how to secure your place.
